tokyo shop & eat guides

art direction, design
circle publishing, thailand

because the writing is honest and casual, the design is based on the idea of an internet blog turned into print. under this, expressive use of “face marks” in the shopping guide illustrate the delight of traversing through the city; the eating guide uses a multitude of food snapshots arranged as if in a photo software image catalog. an additional idea, was to use the quick-to-find back pages for a translation guide where one can construct sentences easily by pointing on the spot. the guides went into their second printing after only a month of being on sale.
